Cory serves as a Senior Wealth Advisor for Crusonia Wealth Advisors. He works with two groups: pre-retirees and recent retirees navigating the transition from accumulating wealth to living on it, and business owners whose company is their family balance sheet. His work is especially focused on coordinating the disciplines that are often handled in isolation: investment management, tax strategy, retirement income and withdrawal sequencing, Social Security timing, estate planning, and insurance.
Cory’s approach was shaped by growing up in a multigenerational small-business family in Clovis, New Mexico. That background gave him a deep respect for business owners and the financial complexity they carry, and a conviction that building wealth requires the same discipline as building a business: focus on fundamentals, patience through cycles, and an honest assessment of what is actually working. His planning philosophy centers on taking complexity in and handing clarity back, so clients understand where they stand and where they’re headed.
Prior to joining Crusonia Wealth Advisors, Cory spent more than twenty years in financial planning and investment management. Most recently he was an Investment Adviser Representative with Osaic Advisory Services, and before that with B. Riley Wealth Advisors and RubinBrown Advisors.
Cory earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico and an MBA in Finance from the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. He is a CFA® charterholder, a CFP® professional, a Chartered Market Technician® (CMT), and a Certified Kingdom Advisor® (CKA®). He is committed to advancing the financial planning profession and has served as Board President of the Financial Planning Association of Colorado.
A Highlands Ranch resident, Cory enjoys golf, fly fishing, snowboarding, and playing guitar. He spends his free time with his wife, Kimberly, their children, Teagan and Drake, and their two Goldendoodles, Copper and Murphy.
